Well it’s been a while… Another summer seems to have come around and every Tuesday sees me back in Totnes between 9 and 3ish with my stall and dressed as an Elizabethan.
I have a couple of new venues – I have been going to Kennaway House in Sidmouth – my next excursion there will be on 15th June between 10 and 4. Along with other quality local crafts, there will be stalls displaying 4 different glass processes – Glass Blowing, Fused Glass, Lampwork and Stained Glass. That should be interesting and fun.
6th July sees me close to home at Abbotskerswell Village Hall. 10 – 3. This is an occasional market to showcase local crafters and artists. The girls have not been running it for long and it gets better every time, so if you are in the area do come along and support them.
13th July 10 – 3 and it’s The Strand Centre in Dawlish. This is based in the church in the Strand. Notable for it’s friendly atmosphere and bacon sandwiches! The cakes look pretty good too. 20 – 30 stalls selling everything from vegan soap, engraved glass, and candles to handmade cards, knitted booties and children’s cardigans.
Alongside all of this I have a permanent but changing display in Crafters of Dawlish. Located in Queen Street, this is a small community Business shop selling haberdashery, wool and requisites for other crafts and providing a selling platform for local artists and craftsmen. I also help out there every Wednesday morning.
Phew – I feel tired just thinking about it all. Now I have to think about a commission I have been given for a new shape of bead I have never made before….. I enjoy a challenge!
